Spine Technology Leader has Developed 26 Systems to Date
June 25, 2007 – Audubon, PA, USA Globus Medical, Inc., the largest privately-held spinal implant manufacturer in the world, today announced the introduction of the CITADEL™ Anterior Lumbar Plating System. The system has been implanted successfully in approximately 40 surgeries to date.
“There are several key factors that differentiate CITADEL from anything else in the marketplace today,” said Larry Binder, Group Engineering Manager, Globus Medical. “CITADEL is a comprehensive system that can be used throughout the entire range of the lumbar spine, not just the lumbosacral junction. The sacral plate is specially designed to match the curvature of the sacrum. The plate provides large visualization windows, and the system utilizes both fixed and variable screws.”
The CITADEL system is the 26th complete system Globus Medical has developed in the past four years, and the sixth new system announced in 2007.
