Musculoskeletal Education and Research Center
MERC is the educational division of Globus Medical. This group of trained educational professionals collaborates with internationally recognized spine surgeons to conduct educational programs around the globe. Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art programs to educate and teach surgeons around the world about the safe and effective use of our products, as well as general spine education.
For further details on each program, see below, visit our calendar or contact the MERC Registrar.
MERC organizes and provides a series of symposiums on a variety of emerging spine-related issues led by internationally recognized surgeon faculty.
Newer surgical techniques such as Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) approaches require a simulated learning environment facilitated by intensive cadaveric training. We offer multiple programs to meet the need of interested surgeons.
Focused on new technologies, this program provides surgeons exposure to new products and techniques in a “real world” surgical setting under the tutelage of a highly skilled preceptor in the operating room, with a strong interactive opportunity before, during and after the surgical procedure. Preceptorships are available at the preceptor’s facility or at the participant’s facility.
Our MERC facility represents an important aspect of Globus’ commitment to continuing education programs to further the advancement of spine care. Located within Globus’ world headquarters, the MERC facility includes a 60 seat auditorium for on-site symposiums and a six station, state-of–the-art cadaver lab for hands-on surgical technique instruction.
